Cross Elementary School serves approximately 380 students from Headstart through sixth grade. The school is located in rural Berkeley County on Highway 6 not far from Lake Marion. Areas served include Cross, Ridgeville, Pineville, Pinopolis and Sandridge. 

Cross Elementary is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by establishing a positive learning environment where students, teachers, administrators, parents and community members share the responsibility for creating and promoting challenging learning opportunities for all students. Teachers are intentional about creating experiences for students that will assist them with successfully competing in our global society. All students are afforded consistent opportunities to think critically and to embrace problem solving opportunities. Teachers are facilitators in the classroom as students confidently take risk, evaluate their thinking and take ownership for their learning.  Students needing additional support in math and reading are identified and provided interventions individually. Staff development is provided through our instructional coach, Title 1 Facilitator, and district content specific personnel. Teachers are also provided opportunities to participate weekly in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and data teams to ensure planning, collaboration and effective instruction.  Our digital conversion gives students the opportunity for project/problem solving base learning to research,write, and present skills necessary for today's graduate. Identified students in grades 3-6 participate in Read 180 and System 44; a research based innovative reading intervention that challenges students to help develop literacy skills. Our school with the support of our PTO and Busines Partners(Santee Cooper, Dollar General, Martin Marietta and Wright's Grocery), continue to celebrate students and staff with incentives and rewards for demonstrating academic achievement, positive attitude, and respectful behavior.
