Jason Shover

Principal

Mr. Jason Shover was named principal of Cane Bay Middle School in May 2025. Mr. Shover comes from Pennsylvania with various educational career experiences over the past 22 years. He began his teaching career in secondary alternative education, and then was subsequently a 5th grade teacher for eight years. He then spent seven years as a middle school assistant principal, where he was named the Pennsylvania Assistant Principal of the Year in 2019. Before becoming a Cobra, he was a high school principal for three years.

Mr. Shover holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Master of Education in School Administration, as well as his Letter of Eligibility for Superintendent.

Assistant Principals

Holly Wilson

Holly Wilson, M. Ed

Originally from West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University, Ms. Wilson moved to South Carolina in 2000 where she began her career in education. During her career, she has taught English and Broadcast Journalism and served as English Department Chair. Prior to Cane Bay Middle, Ms. Wilson served as an assistant principal at Berkeley High for three years. She is excited for the upcoming school year and the opportunity to work with the wonderful faculty, staff, and students at CBM.

Mrs. Stephanie Baird

I am entering my 20th year in education! I have a M. Ed in both Special Education and Education Administration. I have spent the last four school years as an Instructional Coach for both reading and math at Sangaree Elementary. Prior to joining BCSD four years ago, I served as a Special Services Transition Coordinator for Cyber Academy of South Carolina.  I taught middle and elementary school in DD2. I taught 6th grade self-contained special education at Dubose Middle School where I was named 2018 Teacher of the Year. I also taught Self Contained Kindergarten for five years and K-5th grade resource at Pye Elementary.  I started my teaching career at Rollings Middle School of the Arts teaching Theatre Arts and pursuing my initial certification through the PACE program.  

 I am so excited to get to know all of you and join the CBM family!

mr lewis

Mr. Dustin Lewis

Mr. Lewis has been in education for 11 years. This year will be his fourth year as an assistant principal, this will be his first year at Cane Bay Middle. Before becoming an administrator he served as 6th grade math teacher for two years and science teacher for three more years at Sedgefield Middle. Mr. Lewis then transitioned to the role of technology instructional coach at Sedgefield Intermediate for two years before going back to Sedgefield Middle School as an assistant principal for three years.

Mr. Lewis currently resides with his wife and daughter in Moncks Corner.  He is a huge fan of the University of South Carolina, and can be found watching USC football with family and friends on most Saturdays in the fall. He is very excited to be a part of the Cane Bay family and looking forward to a great year!
