🌟 2nd Grade Testing is Coming Up! 📚🧠

Dear 2nd Grade Families,
Exciting times are ahead! Our second graders will take part in the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) and Iowa Assessments from October 5 through October 9.

What You Need to Know:
No studying is needed: These tests measure how your child naturally solves problems and thinks

.Low stress: Most children have fun showing what they know without any pressure.
Keep routines normal: Treat testing days like any other regular school day!

Preparation + Determination=Growth

Our students are making gains in math! For the 2025-2026 school year, our SC Ready Math scores increased by 7.2 percent. According to the South Carolina Department of Education, this makes us the school district with the third-highest growth in SC Ready Math scores in the state!

On Monday, the Berkeley County Board of Education approved the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 General Fund Budget, a financial plan that invests in students and employees while making responsible use of taxpayer dollars. To ensure our young learners and families are set up for success, every BCSD school with a kindergarten program will host a Kick-Off to Kindergarten event next week! School administrators and staff will be on site to answer any questions parents may have about their school's kindergarten program and conduct school tours. New student registration can also be completed during the event. Bee Tree Elementary's Kick-Off to Kindergarten event will be held on April 21 at 5 p.m. at Carolyn Lewis School (380 Coleridge Dr., Summerville, SC).
