Grading Policies

It is expected that all students attending BMC will commit to doing their best work. Students who achieve at high levels will be recognized in multiple ways. State End-of-Course exams count 20% of the final grade. Please note that the TTC Grading Scale (for college courses) and the SC Uniform Grading Scale (for high school courses) are different.

SC Uniform Grading Scale     

A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79 
D = 60-69
F = below 60

Trident Technical College Grading Scale

A = 91-100
B = 81-90
C = 71 80
D = 65-70
F = below 65

South Carolina Diploma Requirements:
A student must earn a total of 24 units of credit in state approved courses distributed as follows:

English

Mathematics

4.0

Science

3.0

U.S. History

1.0

U.S. Government

.5

Economics

.5

Other Social Studies

1.0

Physical Education or Junior ROTC

1.0

Computer Science (including Keyboarding)

1.0

Foreign Language or Career/Technology Education

7.0

In addition, the student must meet the applicable benchmarks set forth by the State of South Carolina, including all applicable End-of-Course exams.
