Before transitioning into an administrative role, Mrs. Ducker taught social studies for 10 years, spending two years at Sedgefield Middle and eight years at Goose Creek High.  She served as an academy coach at Goose Creek High for one year, and then as an assistant principal for four years.  

Prior to being named principal at BHS, Mrs. Ducker served as the principal of Sedgefield Middle School for four years and was named the 2023 BCSD Secondary Principal of the Year.

Mr. Welch grew up in Suwanee, Georgia where he was a graduate of North Gwinnett High School (01’) and was inducted to their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. He continued his playing career after High School at Presbyterian College where he played Basketball for Coach Greg Nibert and received his Bachelors in Special Education. Mr. Welch taught self-contained Special Education for 16 years prior to entering administration. That 16 career includes stints at 3 schools, in 3 districts and 2 states. Coach Welch’s Coaching career includes serving as an Assistant Varsity Coach/Head JV Basketball Coach at his alma mater to then accepting the Head Basketball position at Ashley Ridge High School and served there for the first 6 years of the school's history. In 2014 Coach Welch came to Berkeley High School to both teach Special Education and serve as the Schools Assistant Athletic Director. Coach Welch received his Master’s in Education Administration from The University of South Carolina in the Summer of 2021. During the 2021-2022 school year he served the Stags as the Interim Athletic Director before being selected to the position officially. “The mission of the Berkeley High School’s Athletic Department is to provide a rigorous athletic program which compliments and supports a challenging academic program by fostering an environment where academic integrity, social and moral responsibility, respect for others, and competitive athletic excellence are highly valued. We are in constant pursuit to become Scholars and Champions.” Mr. Welch is married to Erin Welch and has two children, Connor (8) and Cody (6)

Mr. Jonah Bryant has worked at Berkeley High School since the 2007-2008 school year after graduating from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a minor in secondary education in the Fall of 2006. Mr. Bryant spent his first five years as a classroom English teacher, and his next 11 years as an administrator split between Star Academy Director and then starting in 2018, assistant principal. Mr. Bryant is an avid sports fan and loves to spend time with his daughter and family.

Stephanie Peagler is the newest assistant principal at Berkeley High School. Prior to this, Ms. Peagler served as an assistant principal at Stratford High School. She holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education Social Studies from Clemson University, a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina, and an educational specialist degree from The Citadel. Ms. Peagler believes establishing positive relationships is the key to being an effective leader.
