Westview Middle's new Library was on the news, how cool is that?! We can't wait to welcome our teachers back tomorrow and our students next week to check it out for themselves. Don't forget to stop by our Open House on August 11th from 4:30 to 6:30 and catch a sneak peek before we officially open!

We would like to shout out a HUGE thank you to the Stratford High School JROTC cadets (and one future cadet) for their assistance today in WVM's Library. Together they moved dozens of boxes, carried hundreds of Chromebooks, and shelved thousands of books. We couldn't have done it without them, and we are so close to being able to show off our new Media Center to the world! #formerwarriors #oneberkeley #makingapositivedifference

Attention all rising 7th and 8th graders zoned for Stratford High School: B-Team football tryouts are Monday, August 4th through Thursday, August 7th from 5:30 PM to 7:00PM at Stratford High School. You must have all forms; including an uploaded physical uploaded in PlanetHS to participate. Please contact Coach Jacob Stradcutter (Stradcutterj@bcsdschools.net) with any questions.

Westview Middle School is excited to invite you to our upcoming Open House from 4:30-6:30 on August 11th! This family-friendly, drop-in event gives students and parents the chance to walk their schedules, visit classrooms, and explore the campus. We'll also have food trucks available for dining options. Be sure to follow us on social media for updates.
Please note that "The Boulevard" schools — WVP, WVE, and WVM — will be hosting their open houses on the same evening with staggered times. This is designed to accommodate families with students at multiple schools. However, it may impact traffic in the area, so we encourage you to plan accordingly.

"What happens in the summer after everyone leaves?" LOTS! Westview Middle has some big things happening and our school district works quick. Our custodial staff has begun stripping/waxing the floors, our district painters have primed the walls for a facelift, and our library has been gutted for a complete overhaul! We can't wait for you all to see what we have in store!

There's still time! We have a few yearbooks in stock, but they're going fast! Books can be ordered through Jostens or for $50 at the school office.

Our school participated in MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness School-based Wellness Initiative during the 2024-2025 school year. Participation in this Initiative shows our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our students and staff. By meeting the Initiative’s requirements for the 2024–2025 school year, Westview Middle earned a Wellness Award of $250 which will be used to further grow and sustain our wellness initiatives. 25 Straight Years! Saturday Westview reached a milestone. 20 students received a superior rating and 1 student received an excellent rating at South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) Solo and Ensemble. This qualified us for the States Highest Award The SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award. This year is the 25th year Westview has qualified! We are extremely proud of their dedication and work. They maxed out points for region/all state, received superior with distinction at both state Concert Performance Assessment and Jazz Performance Assessment, and maxed out points at Solo and Ensemble. Our dedicated team presented our efforts to enhance school culture to educational leaders across the state. We are proud to be recognized for our hard work and commitment to creating a positive environment for our students!

Congratulations to 8th Grade student Annabelle Bendell, and her art teacher Ms. Elks. Annabelle's artwork was selected to hang in the BCSD board room for the 2025-2026 school year. Only one student per school is chosen for this honor each year! We are so proud of you!
