The Westview Middle School band program dazzled last night under Mr. Ward's direction. We're incredibly proud of the talent and dedication shown by each of our musicians. A huge thank you also goes out to our wonderful audience—especially the parents, families, and friends—whose constant support makes evenings like this possible.

Westview students wrote over 300 hundred grateful grams to their teachers this month! Their heartfelt thank you notes lined our school halls to show how much we appreciate our hardworking teachers and staff. Mrs. Calvin's 8th grade robotics class took flight yesterday in their drone programming and fight lesson. Students teamed up to code a flight pattern for their drones to lift off and land on a specific point. Thanks to Mr. Cate and Mrs. Fernandez from the BCSD Innovation Team for helping!

Westview Family, we are excited to share some wonderful news about our band program. Our very own Band Director, Mr. Ronnie Ward, was recently featured in the September 2025 edition of SBO Plus, a national magazine highlighting band, orchestra, choral programs, and performing arts educators.

In the article, Westview Middle alumnus Ryan Snell, now a Navy Musician 1st Class in the Fleet Band, credits the Westview Band Program, and Mr. Ward specifically, as the driving force behind his passion for music. His story is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that great teachers have on their students, long after they leave our building.

We are incredibly proud of Mr. Ward and grateful for the dedication he pours into our students every day. Moments like this showcase what makes Westview special.

We're still riding the wave of learning in Mrs. Harrelson's class! Students didn't just eat the candy for Halloween, they used marshmallows to create a hands-on wave model and investigate concepts like wavelength and amplitude.

School Report Card results are in, and Westview Middle School is proud to announce that our performance exceeds the criteria to ensure all students meet the Profile of a South Carolina Graduate!

This year, we earned an overall rating of 51 — “Good” — a 7-point increase from last year! Additionally, our student progress was ranked as "Excellent", the highest level possible! 📈

Our students, teachers, and staff worked incredibly hard to achieve this growth, and we could not be prouder of their dedication and teamwork. 💪

We’re celebrating this milestone today, but our eyes are on the future — the best is yet to come at Westview! 💙💛
