Whitesville Elementary families are invited to come out to the school on Thursday, July 16 to meet the school’s new principal, Dr. Amber Sainz.
Dr. Sainz is entering her 27th year in education, and her 12th year as a school principal.
She studied elementary education at Missouri State University, where she continued her education to attain her of Master of Science in reading and her Master of Science in educational administration. She received her doctorate in educational administration through Lindenwood University.
Dr. Sainz’s extensive career includes experience as an elementary classroom teacher, a Title I teacher and an instructional coach. She was still in Missouri when she entered her first elementary principal role in 2015.
In 2020, Dr. Sainz came to the lowcountry to serve as an elementary principal in Charleston County School District. She said she is excited to enter her new leadership role at Whitesville Elementary.
"Together, we will honor our traditions, embrace new opportunities, and continue building a school where pride, excellence, and every child's success remain at the heart of all we do,” she said.
The school will host a “Popsicles with the Principal” event on July 16 so families can meet Dr. Sainz. This is a very casual, drop-in style event that will be held in front of the school between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
