The Timberland High School JROTC Drone Team earned top honors at the Southeast High School Aerial Drone Competition Regional Championship, held at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, competing against 45 teams from 10 states.

Represented by two teams, Timberland delivered a dominant performance across multiple categories. Both teams placed 2nd in Drone Programming, demonstrating the program's strength, depth, and consistency. In Drone Piloting, the teams secured 2nd- and 3rd-place finishes, showcasing precision and control under pressure.

In the Skills Division, Timberland earned 2nd overall, leading to the highest honor of the event—being named the Overall Champion of the Southeast Regional Championship.

This premier championship brings together some of the most competitive teams in the region. Timberland’s ability to perform at the highest level across multiple events, and to have both teams place among the top in programming, highlights the discipline, preparation, and teamwork of its cadets.

Team members representing Timberland High School were Sebastian Gusi, Joshua Lara-Hernandez, Dameon Valmus, Jayden Llarenas, Jaden Wilson, Addison Smith, Hunter Smith, Tyler Pipkin, and Brayden John.

Beyond competition, cadets develop real-world skills in project management, engineering design, digital documentation, and formal interviews. Their success reflects a program built on high standards and a commitment to continuous improvement.

With this championship win, Timberland continues to establish itself as one of the top drone programs in the Southeast.
