A message from the school nurse... Parents, in guidance of the DHEC Exclusion List, please note the following guidelines that will be upheld at SSE for Fever: Fever: *Keep your child home for a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher AND experiencing behavior change or other signs of illness. *Your child may return when they no longer have a fever for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medicine. *A child must stay home and be fever free for a full 24 hours WITHOUT the use of Tylenol, Ibuprofen and other fever reducing medication. They may return the day after as long as they are not running fever and are able to participate.

Congratulations to our Custodian of the Quarter Mr. Mobley! Custodians receive feedback from staff members at the school and that is how they receive this quarterly award. Mr. Mobley comes to school everyday with a smile on his face and is always in a cheerful mood! The kids love him and so do we!

EVERY student DESERVES a school counselor. Feb. 3-7 is National School Counseling Week, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our school counselors for the role they play in student achievement and success.

Friday, February 7 is an Early Dismissal day for Students! We will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. There is no school for students February 14 and February 17!

We are celebrating National School Counselor Week at SSE February 3-7! We love our counselors Ms. Morrissey and Ms. Watson! We will have School Counselor Spirit Week next week for anyone who would like to participate!

Our Golden Tone Chorus rocked the house and received a standing ovation at Reading Partners SC's Books and Breakfast event this morning. Great job, Wolf Pups!

Thank you to Delta Dental and The Land of Smiles for the fun and informative show about dental health! Our K4-2nd grade students had fun and got some new dental gear!

BCSD schools and offices will re-open and resume normal operations tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 27.

Due to concerns about icy conditions and the ongoing impact of inclement weather, Berkeley County School District students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, January 24. In response to ongoing forecasts for wintry weather, to include the potential for snow, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) announced that schools will follow the half-day dismissal bell schedule on Tuesday, January 21. Students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Wednesday, January 22. All schools and offices will be closed Wednesday. Math Wiz from Friday, January 10! We do this every Friday to help students with their math fact fluency...but also to motivate them to learn those facts and have a little fun and recognition at the same time. This past Friday we had students in Ms. Spann's 3rd grade cheering for each other, and genuinely excited for the girls who won. We love that!
