Due to forecasts for continued severe weather resulting in area power outages, and concerns regarding impacts on roads and facilities throughout the evening, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour weather delay on Wednesday, January 10. There will be no before school care programs, but after school programs and athletics will resume normal operations on Wednesday. Bus riders will report to bus stops two hours later than their regularly scheduled time. Information concerning school start times and bell schedules when operating on a 2-hour weather delay is available on the BCSD website here: https://www.bcsdschools.net/o/bcsd/page/school-bell-schedules. District officials are continuing to work closely with the Berkeley County Emergency Management Department, local power providers, and law enforcement to monitor the weather and potential impact on the county. Officials are also receiving regular updates from the National Weather Service. As safety and security is our number one priority, all decisions are made with the safety of students, staff, and families in mind.

Leader of the Week… Olivia Olson Mrs. Olson has been recognized as Leader of the Week because of her perseverance. She continues to work on a plethera of different strategies within her classroom to have things run even better than the week before. She not only takes feedback and suggestions but she asks for them and puts them into action. She is a role model for others by how she forms relationships with all students. We appreciate her spirit and positive personality in good times and times of stress. We appreciate her and are blessed to have Olivia at SRI.

It has been a great week with the Booster Team raising money for our SRI Students!! Tomorrow is the Color Run. Please be aware that your child needs to wear clothes that can get colored starch on them as they run. It does come out in the wash. They will come home with color on their clothes and possibly hair even though they go through a "blow color off" area at the end of their laps. Parents are welcome to bring a chair and watch as long as they sign in at the office and stay in the designated watch zone. A physical identification must be presented to Cindy at the front counter. If you sign your child out after the run you also have to do that at the front counter with Mrs. Cindy. The 3rd and 4th grade Run is from 11-11:45 a.m. and the 5th grade Color Run is from 12-12:45 p.m. See you tomorrow and have a Great Night. It is not to late to donate at mybooster.com.
