Seventh grade parents/guardians if your child received the Tdap vaccine over the summer, please send the updated record to the nurse. If they have not received the Tdap vaccine, please schedule an appointment to have this done.

Per state policy, all students attending school must have Tdap vaccine given on or after the child's 10th birthday. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Coefield.

Hello, SFM Families and Guardians, I want to thank everyone for being so patient with us as we continue to put systems in place to ensure a smooth opening of the school year and continued success throughout the year. The afternoon car-rider line is moving more quickly every day, and I appreciate everyone lining up in one direction. Parents, thank you for following directions. Tomorrow, our students will take the DRC BEACON. This is an important assessment because it allows us to determine where your students are academically and use that data to drive instruction. Please communicate to your students the importance of doing their best, as their results will help guide the instruction they receive this quarter. Hello SFM Parents and Guardians,

**First day down—179 more to go!**

Thank you for helping us get through our first day of school. We know the first day can bring a few challenges as everyone settles into new routines, and we truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility.

It was wonderful seeing all of our new **Sharks** come through the front doors today! I also want to recognize and thank our parents and guardians who demonstrated patience throughout arrival, dismissal, and the registration process. Your cooperation makes a tremendous difference.

As we continue welcoming new students, please keep in mind that **same-day registration may not be completed by the end of the day** due to the high volume of students who still need to be registered. We shared several reminders before the start of school encouraging families to complete registration early, and we appreciate everyone working with our staff as we process the remaining registrations as quickly as possible.

For our returning students, please remember that **Chromebooks cannot be issued until registration is fully completed**. If you still have outstanding registration requirements, we encourage you to complete them as soon as possible.

A special thank-you also goes to our **car rider families** for following the procedures and helping our line move safely. Your cooperation and patience is greatly appreciated.

As we work through these first few days, we ask for your continued patience and partnership. Each day, our routines will become smoother as our students, families, and staff settle into the new school year.

Our Sedgefield Middle School teachers came back early from summer break with enthusiasm and purpose! 🦈

Today, our faculty partnered with our school administration and Dr. Branham from the South Carolina Department of Education's Palmetto Project to dive into exciting shifts in math instruction, strengthen the belief that we are all *math people*, and intentionally plan for a successful school year.

We're grateful for the dedication of our teachers and their commitment to continuous learning and student success. It's going to be an amazing year at Sedgefield!
