Our PSE third graders are taking learning by storm as they design and experiment with their own weather tools! Through hands-on learning, they’re building skills that are sure to make a real impact - rain or shine. We are so grateful to our incredible PTA for making this experience possible. Your support helps our learning shine brighter every single day!

Philip Simmons Elementary was honored to be part of an unforgettable moment for one of our students. Third grader Millie received the surprise of a lifetime when her dad, United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Danny South, returned home early after being deployed for six months to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Millie and her family were expecting his return in March, making this early homecoming even more special and emotional for everyone involved. The joy, hugs, and happy tears filled our halls and reminded us just how powerful these moments are.

Chief Master Sergeant South shared:

“Leaving for an extended period of time isn't easy for anyone. I can't put into words what a gift it is to know Millie was loved, happy, and thriving at PSE every day I was away. This Iron Horse family is truly a blessing to us.”

We are incredibly grateful to Chief Master Sergeant South and his family for their sacrifice and service. PSE is proud to support our military families and honored to welcome him home. 💙🤍❤️

Welcome home, and thank you for your service!

Later in the week, students became engineers as they designed and tested model houses against strong winds and rain. Hands-on learning at its best! 🖤💜
