Our AIMS Dance Company dancers had a blast recently at the 3rd Annual Day of Dance at Cane Bay High School!

They jumped into master classes across different styles and then lit up the stage with their high-energy Car Wash performance. So much fun, growth, and dancing all in one day!

So proud of these talented kids! 💃🔥

The College of Charleston Opera brought a delightful twist to “The Three Little Pigs” for our entire school today! 🎭🐷

Their charming children’s opera featured a Mozart-inspired score with the three little pigs hilariously named Despina, Cherubino, and Don Giovanni as they built their homes to outsmart the big bad wolf — Wolfgang BigBad!

The kids were completely captivated, laughing and cheering throughout the performance. It was such a fun and memorable way to introduce them to opera.

Thank you, College of Charleston Opera, for an absolutely wonderful show! ❤️

This week, our 2nd graders stepped outside the classroom and into nature for an unforgettable experience at “Kids Who Care” — an annual environmental education event held at Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner, SC.

Through the “NatureScope” program, our students got to explore the outdoors hands-on, becoming one with nature as they learned about conservation, ecosystems, and stewardship. From walking nature trails to engaging in interactive environmental activities, they discovered how exciting and important it is to care for our planet.

We’re so grateful for this wonderful partnership with the Berkeley Soil & Water Conservation District, Berkeley County School District, and other local organizations that make this meaningful event possible each year.

Because sometimes, nature becomes one of life’s greatest teachers. 🌿💚

Watching our young learners light up as they connected with the natural world reminded us all why these experiences matter so much. Proud of our little conservationists!

We were thrilled to welcome Mayor Habib to visit our second-graders today!

He shared the delightful book Lay's Big Question with our students and sparked wonderful conversations about how local government works. The kids were engaged, curious, and truly enjoyed learning about the important role our community leaders play.

A huge thank you, Mayor Habib, for also providing every second grader with their own copy of the activity book All About Local Government in South Carolina. These hands-on resources made the lesson even more meaningful and fun!

We truly appreciate you taking the time to connect with our young learners and for all that you do to support our schools and community. 💙

Our Kindergarten Chameleons had such a magical time working with Ms. Jordan Giancursio from Engaging Creative Minds! ✨🧚‍♀️

The students created their very own fairy tales, then brought them to life by working with Ms. Jordan to develop dances that captured the story. She helped them explore story elements and dance elements in such a fun, hands-on way.

Each class also created a beautiful set during art infusion and a video during drama infusion. We combined all of it into a special Fairy Tale Ball for our families!

The kids got to dress up, perform their dances, share their sets and videos, and — the best part — invite their parents up on stage to dance with them. ❤️

It was such a joyful, creative experience! The students learned so much and loved sharing it all with their families.

Thank you, Ms. Jordan Giancursio and Engaging Creative Minds, for making this Fairy Tale Ball unforgettable!

Our 2nd graders had the most wonderful time with our amazing Artist in Residence, Cat Brantley! 🎨✍️

They dove into figurative language by writing beautiful color poems packed with similes, metaphors, and personification. Then they brought their words to life by creating stunning abstract watercolor paintings that perfectly captured their creative ideas!

It was such a special way to blend writing and art, and the students were absolutely beaming with pride over their unique creations.

A huge thank you to Cat Brantley for inspiring our 2nd graders and making this magical experience possible! ❤️

Last Friday, our school got an extra special visit from Ned during his awesome Resiliency Ride assembly! 🎉

The kids were totally captivated as Ned shared his powerful message: Never Give Up, Encourage Others, and Do Your Best — lessons they’ll carry with them way beyond the school day.

He wowed everyone with incredible yo-yo tricks and even created some super creative balloon art right on stage! There were smiles everywhere. 😄

If your child is excited to try yo-yoing like Ned (and keep practicing that “Never Give Up” mindset!), order forms are going home again this Wednesday. These fun yo-yos are a great reminder of the assembly’s message, and the proceeds help bring this positive experience to other schools too!

Thanks to everyone who made this day so memorable — our students are still buzzing about it! 💪✨

Our 5th graders just had an amazing adventure! 🚀⚓️

We scored an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the mighty USS Yorktown at Patriots Point.

They walked the flight deck, explored the cabin, viewed the WWII B-25 bomber, and learned how this legendary aircraft carrier fought across the Pacific, recovered the Apollo 8 moon mission crew, and served our country for nearly 30 years.

The kids were wide-eyed the entire time — climbing ladders, imagining life at sea, and realizing history isn’t just in books… it’s something you can touch!

So proud of these future leaders. History came alive today!

⚓️Thank you, Patriots Point!⚓️

🎶 We’re bursting with pride! 🎶

Five amazing students from Howe Hall AIMS were selected for this year’s All County Chorus!

They spent two intense days rehearsing, learning beautiful songs, and this year they even added ukulele to the performance. The grand finale was a wonderful concert on Saturday afternoon.

These talented kids represented our school so beautifully — we couldn’t be prouder of them!

A huge thank you to Mrs. Liebenow for all her dedication and guidance. You make moments like this possible! ❤️

Our 3rd graders just wrapped up an amazing Artist-in-Residence experience with Dr. Maribeth Yoder-White, ArtsNOW’s Senior Music Consultant! 🎶📚✨

This special program integrated music with our English Language Arts standards, focusing on identifying explicit themes in literature, explaining how key details develop those themes, and exploring figurative language like metaphors, hyperbole, idioms—and even extending to similes, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, imagery, and more.

Students learned to recognize these elements in texts, understand their purpose in communicating deeper meaning, and then used music to interpret and express the themes and figurative language creatively. Through rhythmic activities, soundscapes, singing, and hands-on music-making, the kids brought stories to life in exciting new ways—boosting their understanding of ELA concepts while building creativity, collaboration, and confidence!

Dr. Yoder-White is a highly respected expert in music education and brings national-level expertise to programs like this through ArtsNOW.

We’re so grateful for this enriching opportunity that makes learning joyful and interconnected. Our 3rd graders are buzzing with new ideas and a deeper love for both music and reading!

Thank you, Dr. Yoder-White and ArtsNOW, for helping our students shine through the arts! 🌟🎤

Our 5th graders had an out-of-this-world experience last week in the StarLab portable planetarium! 🌌✨🚀

They dove deep into our Solar System, reviewing fascinating facts about the planets, exploring the unique features of those closest to us (like Earth’s perfect conditions for life, Mars’ red dust, or Jupiter’s massive storms), and even pondering big questions: What’s at the edges of our universe? How are stars born in glowing nebulae, and how do they dramatically die (as supernovas or black holes)?

The kids learned about constellations by hearing captivating stories behind them—perfect for connecting science with mythology and culture. Using advanced Astronomy software packed with a massive 3D database (including the Hipparcos and Tycho catalogs with over 16 million stars), detailed views of deep space objects from Messier, Caldwell, and NGC/IC catalogs, plus info on comets, asteroids, meteor showers, exoplanets, and high-res 360-degree panoramas of planets and moons—they got to see it all in stunning, immersive detail right inside the inflatable dome!

And the highlight? Each group enjoyed a special virtual visit with giraffes—a fun, surprising twist that brought a bit of Earth’s wildlife into our cosmic adventure (perhaps tying into how we observe and protect our own planet from space!).

It was an unforgettable way to spark curiosity about astronomy, space science, and the wonders of our universe—without leaving school. Our 5th graders left buzzing with questions and excitement!

Huge thanks to the StarLab program for making this magical learning possible. Who else dreams of exploring the stars? Drop a 🌟 if this inspires you!
