To showcase our exceptional art students, each year Berkeley County School District hosts the Board Art Show. In previous years, select student artwork was on display around the BCSD board room for students, parents, board members and the public to observe.
Because the artistic talent in BCSD is so great, the event needed more space. As a result, chosen students and their families are invited to Westview Middle for a recognition ceremony led by Cassandra Cowdrey, BCSD’s Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator.
These pieces were chosen by students' art teachers from most of the schools in the district. If a school is represented by multiple student artists, it's because multiple art teachers are assigned to that school. As a reward for being selected, student artists were each given a certificate and a packet of art supplies during the ceremony.
Following the Board Art Show, the pieces decorate the district’s central office for the next year. To see the individual artwork, check out the 2026 Board Art Show slideshow.
