We're excited to announce our partnership with Stratford High School's football team in support of their exciting new Reading Buddy Program! On Friday, football players from Stratford High School visited WVE. The heartwarming joy on our students' faces as they read together was truly inspiring.
Our joint mission is to cultivate a deep love for reading and strengthen the bond between our schools. We look forward to our next event with SHS and all the positive outcomes this collaboration will bring!
Fall has arrived! We've gone all out decorating our front porch and hallways! We take great joy in cultivating a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere at our school for our children, staff, and families!

We are thrilled to participate in the 'Crows in the Creek' exhibit at the Municipal Center Pond in Goose Creek. A big thank you goes out to Berkeley Electric for sponsoring Westview Elementary and to our amazing staff who poured their creativity and passion into crafting our adorable scarecrows, symbolizing the unity of our four houses within one big Whale family.

Third grade students experienced a story walk today with the book I Am a Bird. Story walks allow students to read and move- a children’s book is taken apart and displayed page by page.
Our experience at the All In Jostens Renaissance Conference today was absolutely incredible! We were inspired by the innovative ideas shared. The energy and enthusiasm of the guest speakers and attendees left us feeling motivated and excited. To better serve the physical and mental wellbeing of those who work for BCSD, the YMCA has partnered with the school district to provide free memberships to all BCSD employees. In celebration of this partnership, BCSD employees are invited to come out to the Cane Bay Family YMCA on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. to activate their memberships and tour the Cane Bay facility. Our staff had a blast celebrating 9x13 Day on September 13! We cooked, baked, and enjoyed delicious 9x13 creations. It was a great day!

We are excited to announce a new addition to our school family! Congratulations to Reece Nix and his family on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Evelyn James Nix. She was born on September 14th, weighing a healthy 7 lbs. 7 oz. and measuring 20 inches. We look forward to watching Evelyn James grow!
