In the coming weeks, Berkeley County School District is hosting a series of meetings regarding the proposed community attendance lines for Bee Tree Elementary and Midtown Middle, which are scheduled to open in August 2026.
These community input meetings are drop-in style and will be held at the schools on the dates listed below. Families will be able to review maps of the proposed changes, speak with staff and provide input via comment cards.
Board members were presented with the proposed attendance lines during the Oct. 6 Board of Education meeting (view presentation).
Please note: these are proposed changes; board members have not taken a vote. Board members will do a first reading on the changes in November.
Bee Tree Elementary is expected to provide some relief for Cane Bay Elementary, Carolyn Lewis School, Nexton Elementary and Whitesville Elementary. Additional schools potentially impacted include Berkeley Elementary, Nexton Elementary, College Park Elementary, Sangaree Elementary and Sangaree Intermediate.
Midtown Middle is expected to provide relief for Berkeley Middle and Cane Bay Middle.
The attendance line adjustments for the two new schools may also potentially impact College Park Middle and Sangaree Middle.
Monday night’s presentation also included potential plans to provide some relief at Foxbank Elementary by making additional attendance line changes. These adjustments would also affect Boulder Bluff Elementary, Moncks Corner Elementary and Whitesville Elementary.
