Nicholas Snyder has been named interim principal of Sangaree Middle School.
Mr. Snyder brings 18 years of educational experience and a deep commitment to student success to his new role. Prior to joining Sangaree Middle, he served as an assistant principal at Cane Bay High School and Stratford High School. He began his teaching career in 2007 as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in Charleston County. In 2015, he joined Berkeley County School District as an English teacher at Cane Bay High School, where his leadership and dedication were quickly recognized.
In 2017, Snyder was named BCSD District Teacher of the Year, and in 2018, he was honored as a Top 5 Finalist for South Carolina Teacher of the Year—a testament to his excellence in the classroom and commitment to education.
“I believe my growth as an educator and leader has prepared me for this opportunity to serve the incredible staff, students, and community of Sangaree Middle School," said Snyder. "With 18 years of experience in education—most of that right here in Berkeley County—I’m honored to step into this role. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and leading SRM into a future full of opportunity.”
Mr. Snyder holds a bachelor’s degree from Concord University and a graduate degree in Secondary Educational Leadership from The Citadel.
