Sangaree Elementary is excited to introduce the community to the school’s new principal, Mr. Mike Huff.
Families will be able to meet Huff during a special Popcorn with the Principal event on July 29 (more info below)
Huff studied earth and space science education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He attained his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from The Citadel.
Huff has spent all 12 years of his education career in Berkeley County School District. He taught math at Cainhoy Elementary from 2014 to 2016 before moving on to Philip Simmons Middle. In 2019, he transitioned into his first administrative role as assistant principal of Philip Simmons Elementary. He served as the district’s K-12 science coordinator from 2020-2021 before returning to Philip Simmons Elementary as the school’s new principal.
Huff said he is incredibly excited to join the Sangaree Elementary community and start this new chapter.
“Throughout my career, I've believed that great schools are built through strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to helping every child succeed,” he said. “I look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff, celebrating the many great things already happening at Sangaree, and working together to make this an outstanding year for every child.”
Sangaree’s Popcorn with the Principal event will be held at the school on Wednesday, July 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is a casual, drop-in style event that will be held in the school’s multipurpose room.
