Meg Ward received the Ambassador of Ability Award at the Healing Farms Fundraising Banquet on Tuesday, October 22nd. Healing Farms is an amazing group who helps support and empower adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Meg received this award for her dedication and work to include all students no matter their ability. Over the last 10 years, Meg has worked with Healing Farms to help our students to “see ability, not disability.” Tron Severe, Executive Director of Healing Farms (and former Stratford teacher) says that Meg “knows the critical value of program we provide. Healing Farms is an avenue to teach her high school students the importance of ability, facilitate inclusion, and promoting respect.” Congrats Meg! This is a well-deserved award!
The Summerville Orchestra Youth Philharmonic is the highest-level youth ensemble sponsored by the Summerville Orchestra (S.O.) composed mostly of students in local high school students from the private, public-school districts, and home-school communities of the Summerville area. These include, but are not limited to, Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston counties.
Stratford High School has the highest number of string musicians in Berkeley County represented in this orchestra.

Several students from the Stratford Art Club did something EPIC last weekend!
Through a collective effort over the past two weeks, our Knights and future Knights have donated supplies for those devastated by Hurricane Helene in NC. Marrington and Devon Forest Elementary contributed to our drive that was started by the Beta, Renaissance, and Teacher Cadet programs here on campus. Coaches helped deliver and load a semi-truck driven by 2023 graduate William Conroy. What a great way to show our Knight pride!
Check out our Stratford Betas at the Goose Creek Fall Festival this past weekend! They assisted the Goose Creek Recreation Department with event setup, helped vendors unload and set up tents, assisted kids at the craft tent, and helped expedite event breakdown. Giving back to the community is what KNIGHTS do!

Berkeley County School District will utilize the Teacher Workday/Inclement Weather Day on October 11 as a weather make-up, e-Learning Day for students, as designated in the BCSD Instructional Calendar. This adjustment is necessary due to the postponement of the first day of school from August 14 to August 15, following impacts of Tropical Storm Debby.

Due to forecasted impacts of Hurricane Helene, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, September 27. All after-school activities and after-school care programs will close at 6 p.m. this evening.
All schools and offices will be closed Friday, and before and after-school care programs are canceled. As the storm system is projected to move out of the area that afternoon, after school activities may resume after 4 p.m. on Friday.
