Berkeley County School District is excited to highlight the outstanding successes reflected in the 2025-2026 South Carolina School Report Card ratings. BCSD has zero schools below average, and zero unsatisfactory ratings.

Based on available records, this is the first time BCSD has achieved this level of success since the state began releasing school report cards in 2001.

The South Carolina Department of Education and the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee released the 2026 report cards on Oct. 12. The annual report measures school and district performance based on test scores, graduation rates, teacher qualifications, and other indicators.

The district also experienced a 4.7 percent increase in graduation rates to an overall 90.9 percent.

Berkeley County schools demonstrated notable gains in college and career readiness, with longitudinal data showing an increase from 65.6 percent to 74.1 percent over the past year. The district also saw a decrease in chronic absenteeism, improving from 23.9 percent to 21.6 percent.

District officials have recently visited schools to celebrate growth achieved on SC READY. In particular, the district experienced 6.7 percent growth in math and 3.1 percent growth in science. The district also saw growth in U.S. History, Biology 1 and Algebra 1 scores.

Superintendent Dr. Anthony S. Dixon attributed this year’s results to the hard work happening every day in BCSD schools.

“We are especially encouraged by the growth we are seeing in areas such as graduation rates, college and career readiness, and student achievement,” he said. “While we celebrate these accomplishments, we also recognize that our work is far from finished. We remain committed to building on this momentum, supporting our educators and providing every student with the opportunities they need to succeed.”
