Philip Simmons Elementary hosted its annual Veterans Day program Tuesday morning by inviting students' veteran family members out to the school for a special breakfast. Visitors then enjoyed musical performances by the third graders.
In addition, prior to the day's festivities, social studies classes from the middle school planted American flags on the front law between the two schools; the flags were arranged in the shape of the United States.
