Chris Thurman

Principal

Chris Thurman joined St. Stephen Middle as the school's principal in 2026. He previously served an assistant principal at Philip Simmons Middle for 7 years before leading Berkeley Middle during the 2025-2026 school year in his first principal role. His career as an educator spans over 15 years, during in which he has taught mathematics, life skills and computer science courses.

Mr. Thurman believes in the power of mentorship, a characteristic he gained from his experience in Call Me MISTER, an initiative to recruit men from minority and underprivileged backgrounds in service as educators.
