Philip Simmons High

Ms. Latanya Butler was named principal at Philip Simmons High in June of 2025. Prior to coming to Philip Simmons High, she served as principal at Berkeley Middle School and an assistant principal at Goose Creek High School. Ms. Butler served as an assistant principal at Goose Creek High for eight years. 

In the spring of 2022, Ms. Butler was named Berkeley County School District's Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year.

Before becoming a school administrator, Ms. Butler was a social studies teacher at St. Stephen Middle and Westview Middle.

Ms. Butler is committed to being a responsive leader in the Berkeley Middle community. She's passionate about parent involvement and looks forward to community engagement events.

Mr. Minkin grew up in Patchogue, New York and attended Limestone College where he played lacrosse. He believes athletics supplements academics, helps young men and women become well rounded by teaching them life lessons that they can’t receive anywhere else. He is a father to two children.

Mr. Dollinger has an extensive background as a high school-level special services teacher, as well as a strength and conditioning coordinator and an assistant varsity football coach, starting in 2013 in Wilmington, N.C. After filling similar roles at high schools in Anderson and Union, Dollinger brought his expertise to Goose Creek High in 2017. He transferred to Sedgefield Middle in 2019 before returning to Goose Creek High in 2021 to serve as the director of strength and conditioning as well as an assistant athletic director. He played college football at the University of Akron and then at Walsh University. He also has a Masters in Educational Leadership degree from Arkansas State University.
