Mike Huff is originally from the small town of Indiana, PA which is located about one hour east of Pittsburgh. He graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Earth/Space Science Education.
During a brief hiatus from the education field, Mr. Huff worked as a Medical Assistant at a Neurology/Psychiatry office which he describes as an important learning experience in his life. Then in 2014, Mr. Huff accepted a teaching position at Cainhoy Elementary/Middle School and began teaching 7th/8th grade mathematics. In 2016, with the closing of the middle school at Cainhoy, Mr. Huff moved to Philip Simmons Middle School where over a three year period he taught 8th grade science, Algebra I, 6th grade science, completed the STEAM training with Clemson and served as a Technology Coach. During the summer of 2018 Mr. Huff graduated from The Citadel with a Master's Degree in Leadership and Supervision as part of the Berkeley County Lead V Cohort. During the 2018-19 school year Mr. Huff was selected to be a part of BCSD's first ever Aspiring AP Cohort which completed in the spring of 2019.
Mr. Huff accepted a role in the BCSD central office ahead of the 2020-2021 school year.
