Mr. Huff is originally from the small town of Indiana, PA, located about an hour east of Pittsburgh. He graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Earth/Space Science Education.
Mr. Huff began his teaching career in 2014 as a 7th/8th grade mathematics teacher at Cainhoy Elementary/Middle School. Following the closure of Cainhoy’s middle school program in 2016, he transitioned to Philip Simmons Middle School, where he taught 8th grade science, Algebra I, and 6th grade science, completed STEAM training with Clemson University, and served as a Technology Coach.
In 2018, Mr. Huff earned his Master’s Degree in Leadership and Supervision from The Citadel as part of the Berkeley County Lead V Cohort. He went on to serve as assistant principal at Philip Simmons Elementary during the 2019–2020 school year before working as Berkeley County School District’s K–12 Science Coordinator from 2020–2021. In July 2021, he was named interim principal of Philip Simmons Elementary, where he has since proudly continued to serve and is now in his fifth year as principal.
During the 2023–2024 school year, Mr. Huff was selected to participate in the School Leadership Executive Institute (SLEI) through the state of South Carolina, a program that develops and supports highly effective school leaders across the state.
