Mrs. Tara Baker is a Native of Charleston, SC. She attended Limestone College where she received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies. Mrs. Baker went on to College of Charleston were she obtained a Master's of Arts in Teaching Degree and a second Master's of Education in Elementary Leadership from the Citadel. Ms. Baker began working in school leadership as an Assistant Administrator at Howe Hall AIMS and Nexton Elementary. 

She is excited to serve the community of Moncks Corner elementary. It is her goal to foster and build positive relationships with the students, teachers, parents, and community. 

Mrs. Baker is the proud wife and mother of three, who all attended Berkeley County Schools. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Assistant Principal

I am proud to be the assistant principal of Moncks Corner Elementary. I began my career teaching at Marrington Elementary in 2013 and eventually became an instructional coach there. At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, I was appointed MNE's assistant principal but then transitioned to MCE.

I earned my undergraduate degree in education from Erskine College, and I received my master's from Charleston Southern University.

I have a passion for helping students find a love for learning and empowering them to be leaders. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors.
