Beginning his path in education and athletics in his hometown, he graduated from Cross High School in 1995 before earning a football scholarship to Charleston Southern University. This opportunity marked a pivotal moment, allowing him to pursue higher education while developing his skills as an athlete. He completed his degree in Physical Education at Charleston Southern, establishing the foundation for a career dedicated to developing young leaders through sport.

Driven by a passion for education and coaching excellence, he pursued advanced credentials to deepen his impact. In 2007, he earned a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from the Citadel, demonstrating his commitment to continuous professional growth and pedagogical mastery.

His coaching career began in 2001, where he spent nine years honing his craft as an assistant coach before stepping into the role of Head Coach at Cross High School. Over the past 16 years in this leadership position, he has become a transformative figure in the program, shaping not only championship teams but also the character of young athletes. His dedication to mentorship has yielded remarkable results: 13 of his former players have gone on to play college football, a testament to both his coaching acumen and his ability to prepare athletes for success beyond the high school level.

His influence extends beyond the local program. He has earned recognition as an assistant coach for both the North South and Shrine Bowl All Star games, prestigious honors that reflect the respect he has garnered within the broader coaching community.
