Thursday night's series finale between Stratford and Berkeley quickly became a pitchers duel. Both teams were strong on the mound with the Knights defeating Berkeley 3-1. Jameson Lee started the game for Stratford and the righty went the distance.
A single by Ben DeFriece put Stratford on the board in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
Berkeley hit a sacrifice fly, which tied the game at one in the top of the third.
The Knights didn't take the lead until later in the game. In the bottom of the sixth Lucas Kline drew a walk when a passed ball allowed one run to score. Kline attempted to advance to second, forcing a throw and allowing another run to score to give the Knights the 3-1 edge.
Lee earned the win for Stratford. The righty allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five.
Next up for Stratford is the final regular season series with Goose Creek. The Knights will travel to Goose Creek on Monday. Wednesday, Stratford will return home for senior night. The regular season finale will be Friday at Goose Creek.
