the Varsity softball team bounced back after a tough loss Monday and defeated Lucy Beckham 13-5 Wednesday night at home.

Ilianexis Cotto drove in five runs on two hits to lead Stratford. She tripled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring two.

Stratford came back to win despite trailing 5-0 in the third.

Lucy Beckham opened the scoring in the second after an error scored two runs.

The Knights flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring 10 runs on eight hits to take the lead, 11-5. The biggest blow in the inning was the Cotto triple.

Kyliegh Malmede tossed five innings of shutout ball for Stratford in relief. The reliever surrendered one hit, striking out 10 and walking two.

Stratford accumulated 12 hits in the game. Jayden Sizemore, Cotto, Calayla Bryant, Katie Bond, Malmede, and Juliaane Jashienski each collected two hits. Ella Bruorton reached base safely with three walks.

Next up for Stratford is a game at Cane Bay on Friday.
