Jarrett Wagner struck out 10 batters as the hurler led Stratford past Wando 6-1 on Wednesday. Wagner gave up three hits and one run over seven innings while walking two.
Wando opened the scoring in the fifth after a single scored one run. It was the only run Wagner would surrender.
The Knights flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Caleb Lott that drove in three.
Lott and Jameson Lee each collected two hits for Stratford. Ben DeFriece, Wagner, Lott, and Micah Adams each drove in a run for the Knights. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.
The Knights will travel to Wando for the series finale tonight. The Knights will look to move to 3-0 in region play with a sweep. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM at Wando.
