baseball final

Stratford beat Wando 7-4 on Monday night in game one of a three game set against the Warriors.

The Knights got on the board in the top of the second inning after Lucas Kline walked, and Wando committed an error, each scoring one run.

A walk by Jameson Lee, and a single by Micah Adams helped Stratford extend their early lead in the third.

Lee earned the win for Stratford. The pitcher gave up eight hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Tyler Majewski pitched one and one-third innings of no-run ball for Stratford in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one. Brandon Cruz and Caleb Lott would take care of the sixth and seventh innings to preserve the Knight victory.

Dom Longello and Lee each collected two hits for the Knights. Kaiden Skinner and Adams each drove in two runs for Stratford. The Knights stole four bases in the game.

Game two of the series will be at home on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
