The Varsity Baseball team won their opening game of "The Classic", defeating Georgetown 6-1 on Thursday at Mike Johnson Park.
Stratford got on the board in the second inning after Dom Longello drew a walk, scoring one run.
Jameson Lee took the mound for Stratford in game one. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking none. Stryker Gehlken appeared in relief for Stratford Varsity Knights, pitching the seventh inning.
Longello led the Knights with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Kaiden Skinner reached base twice with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Longello, Jarrett Wagner, and Lucas Kline each stole multiple bases for Stratford, with the Knights tallying 14 stolen bases for the game.
Stratford plays in game two of "The Classic" at 2:30 PM today against the Dorman Cavaliers.
