The Varsity Football team overcame a slow start and 17-0 third quarter deficit to defeat Berkeley 21-17 Friday night at Ray Stackley Field. The Knights improve to 5-1 on the season (1-0) in region play. The Stratford defense held strong much of the night, limiting Berkeley to 214 total yards. They wouldn't allow a score in the second half, sparking the Knights comeback.

sack celebrationSenior running back Meliq McGowan had a huge night for Stratford. He rushed for 227 yards on 24 carries with one score. McGowan also had a 15 yard TD reception from Senior quarterback Jachin Davis. The Knights got on the board with a J'Qwan Crosby TD reception to begin the comeback.

mcgowan tdStratford travels to Lucy Beckham Friday night. The game will be played at Robert E Hayes Field on the campus of Wando High School. The Bengals are 1-0 in region play and 4-1 overall after defeating Cane Bay 24-23 in overtime last Friday night.
