Summer Reading Brochures 2017

Congratulations to the BHS Track and Field Athletes

Some of the Girls and Boys from the BHS Track Team Competed at the State Track
Meet on May 12th and May 13th with the Following Results:

 The Girls Finished the Meet Overall in 8th Place with 38 Points
and the Following
Individual Athlete Results

Pole Vault –

Katie Rogers - 2nd place - 10-00

Grace Marker – 8th place – 7-06

 Shot Put –

Skyler Gadsden – 1st place – 40-00 – All State

Sierra Steward – 7th place – 32-10

 Triple Jump –

Jaquoia Williams – 2nd place – 37-01 – All State

 Discus –

Skyler Gadsden – 3rd place – 120-06 – All State

 400 –

Kaliece Pinckney – 6th place – 59.56

 The Boys Finished the Meet Overall in 27th Place with 3 Points
and the Following
Individual Athlete Results 
4X400  6th place – 3:30.32

 Senior Dues
If you have not paid Senior Dues yet, they must be paid
before purchasing prom tickets.  Senior Dues are $100 and
can be paid at the BHS Library from 8:15am until 2:00pm daily.
**Only cash or money orders are accepted for payment.

 BHS Orchestra Also Gets Great Results at State!

On Friday, March 24th, our BHS Orchestra performed in the
South Carolina Orchestra Division Concert Performance Assessment
at Aynor High School.  We came back with great results:

**BHS Concert Orchestra received a state rating of "Excellent"
**BHS Advanced Orchestra received a state rating of "Superior"

BHS Wins Speech and Debate State Championship!

Congratulations to the BHS Speech & Debate Team! They competed
at the SCFCA State Tournament. Jordan Willey placed 13th in
impromptu speaking, 4th in expository speaking and state runner-up
in prose interpretation. Abby Bell placed 8th in impromptu speaking
and is the state champion in prose interpretation! In addition, the team
placed 6th out of all schools (all sizes) in the state and WON the
Class AAAA State Championship!

 BHS Retired Library Media Specialist,
Tookie Harrop, was awarded the
2017 SCASL Intellectual Freedom
Award on March 23, 2017!

Berkeley High Wins Gold!

Gold and Silver Award

  Berkeley High School has been recognized by the SC Department of Education and the Education Oversight Committee as a 2014-15 Palmetto Gold Award winner in General Performance. General Performance reflects Absolute and Growth ratings on the school report card, Congratulations to the students, faculty and staff of Berkeley High School for being a Palmetto Gold Award winner for 2014-15.


Parent University
The purpose of Parent University is to ensure that parents have information and resources to help their children succeed in and out of school. Berkeley County School District supports the teacher in every parent and seeks to offer workshops, seminars, and events that connect parents and guardians with schools in a positive, meaningful way.

    Girls Day Out

    Spnsored by SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SSC Atlantic) via ONR, College of Charleston, Trident Technical College via ACE, NUCOR, BOSCH, Department of Energy, Paul Mitchell and the Naval Health Clinic Charelston, Girls Day Out is designed to inspire, educate and attract girls to pursue STEM careers. The three-day, fun-filled event is scheduled for July 27-29 at the College of Charleston. The camp is designed to educate rising 8th and 9th grade students on STEM related degrees and career opportunities, all while having fun! For more info. please click HERE

     #CodeNation - FREE Computer Science Camp

    The Office of Career and Technical Education is offering a FREE computer science coding camp called Code Nation. The camp will be at St. Stephen Middle School on Monday, June 19, through Thursday, June 22, from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily. Code Nation is available for current 5th, 6th and 7th grade students in Berkeley County. For more information and to apply, click HERE.
