Summer Feeding Information

Published on Monday, May 15, 2023

Berkeley County School District will continue to serve meals to students this summer.

The 2023 Summer Breakfast and Lunch Program is available to all students and children in the Berkeley County community. The program is free to all children under the age of 18.

The Seamless Summer Option (SSO) allows school districts to provide free summer meals in low-income areas during the traditional summer vacation periods. It is an extension of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Free breakfast and lunch meals that meet Federal nutrition guidelines are provided to all children and teens at approved SSO sites.

The program begins Monday, June 5 and runs through Thursday, July 27. The program will be closed on the Fourth of July (Tuesday).

The following locations will be open Monday through Thursday. Please note that sites are subject to change. Breakfast will be served between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

All meals must be consumed on-site.
