BCSD wrestlers shine at 2023 state meet

Several Berkeley County School District athletes had amazing performances at the high school wrestling state championship held in Anderson this past weekend.
BCSD had four wrestlers crowned state champion, five recognized as runner-up, four finished third and four finished fourth in their respective weight classes.

Amonte McCray – Cross – 285 lbs (first champion in school history)
JJ Peace – Cane Bay – 120 lbs (third straight championship – still undefeated in SC – 87-0)
Noah Nichols – Stratford – 160 lbs

Ethan Dawson – Timberland – 138 lbs
Santory Jones – Cross – 170 lbs
Austin Guererro – Hanahan – 182 lbs
