Philip Simmons High's BETA Club members are hard at work organizing "comfort bags" for foster children this holiday season.

The club has been accepting donations to assemble these bags to help local children in need. Comfort bags are solely for the children who receive them to hold on to; these are bookbags that contain personal hygiene items, as well as small gifts like books and toys.

BETA Club is a service organization for students who demonstrate the core values of leadership, character, and academic achievement. Students in grades ninth - 11th who are academically eligible will receive an invitation to apply in spring semester of each year. Philip Simmons High's BETA Club students work under the guidance of English teacher Laura Garner.

Way to go, BETA Club students!
