At the April 26 regular meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education, three assistant principal appointments and one district-level coordinator hire were approved.
Each administrator will begin their new role in July 2022.
Deborah Joyce Hanclosky, currently an English teacher at Hanahan High, will join Philip Simmons High as an assistant principal.
Whitney James, currently the Title I Facilitator at H.E. Bonner Elementary, will join Devon Forest Elementary as an assistant principal.
Kimberly Lofland, currently an instructional coach at Devon Forest Elementary, will be the new BCSD Math Coordinator for grades K-12.
Brian Welch, currently a special services teacher at Berkeley High, will serve as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Berkeley High.
