Berkeley County School District’s board of trustees unanimously voted to appoint Eric Scriven as the district’s Director of Transportation.
Scriven has served as the interim Director of Transportation since last fall. Most of his career consists of 24 years with Richland County 1, where his roles included an administrator and an athletic director position.
He came to Berkeley County School District last year to take on an operations manager position in the transportation department – and he said the county has been “very welcoming” ever since his arrival.
“This has been a blast, and I look forward to even greater things in the future,” he said.
Scriven said he is very honored to be named Director of Transportation and looks forward to getting to work.
“I hope to build relationships in our district, and also build relationships with our stakeholders – regaining that trust with the community,” he said.
Scriven’s contract went into effect Feb. 10. Board Chairman David Barrow congratulated Scriven during Tuesday night’s board meeting.
“Welcome to Berkeley County, Mr. Scriven – I know you’ve been here a while,” he said. “Now you have the official title, you’ve been doing the work for a while. Congratulations and thank you for your hard work.”
