The following Berkeley County School District facilities/construction updates were shared during the Tuesday, March 12, 2019 board meeting. The updates were shared as information only, with no decisions to be made. 

Bond Referendum Projects

Foxbank Elementary School

Completing outstanding construction items- 99%

Owner Provided Equipment Connections- 95%

Owner Provided Cubbies- 25% (11 classrooms)

Exterior Items- 95%

  • Irrigation System Installation/Start Up- 80%
  • Owner Provided Sod- 95%
  • Owner Provided Fine Grading and Rock Hounding- 75%
  • Hydro Seeding- Pending
  • Landscaping Warranty- Replacing Trees and Plants- Pending
  • Soil and Sediment Control- Pending

Warranty issue: Gym floor buckling… (Repairs are scheduled for the end of basketball season)

Heritage Trust Student Bank Renovation Project… (Scheduled to be completed this May.)

Bowen's Corner Elementary School

Punch List- 99% (Outstanding Issues)

  • Kitchen cooler and freezer to be removed and correctly re-installed- (Scheduled for the end of this school year.)
  • Sewer clean outs being installed.

Renovations and Special Funding Projects

Mt. Holly Elementary School Renovation Project: (Date of Completion June 30, 2019)

  • Replace all the exterior window lintels and install new exterior windows building wide … Materials are on order. (To begin as soon as the students are relocated.)
  • Replace all the HVAC console water source heat pumps in the classrooms building wide… Materials are on order. (To begin as soon as the students are relocated.)
  •  Retrofit all the existing T8 light fixtures to energy saving LED fixtures building wide. (Materials received. To begin as soon as the students are relocated.)
  • Exterior Painting building wide… (Will begin ASAP)
  • Interior Painting building wide… (To begin as soon as the students are relocated.)

Timberland High School

  • International F Welding Program Renovation Project… (Scheduled to be completed May 30, 2019. Planning/Development- In progress)

Cross High School
