Meg Ward was one of three educators from around the country who was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame last week during the Jostens Renaissance Global Conference in Orlando.
On July 19, while attending the three-day conference, Ward was joined by BCSD officials, Stratford High administrators and Renaissance students, and her family members as she was inducted into the Hall of Fame; video of the event shows her supporters chanting “That’s our teacher!” while Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” plays in the background (view video).
Ward learned that she was a Hall of Fame inductee back in May, when Jostens Renaissance representatives surprised her at Stratford High to share the news (read original story).
Ward teaches math at Stratford High and has been a part of the school for a total of 24 years. She has led the Knights’ Renaissance program since 2004. Jostens Renaissance is an acclaimed educational enrichment program designed to empower students and teachers and inspire academic performance; members are student leaders who work on improving the culture at their school by connecting with fellow students, teachers and staff.
Induction into the Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame is the highest honor that an educator can receive from the organization. It recognizes the successes and achievements of the nation’s finest educators, validated by collected data, documentation and recommendations.
Ward has been credited for her efforts in spreading the message of Renaissance and inspiring other schools to start their own Renaissance programs.
