What would a kindergartner do with a million dollars?

Published on Wednesday, May 20, 2020

Give a kindergartner a million dollars, he or she could come up with a laundry list of things they would buy: water ballons, lots of toys or a pet snake, to name a a few. Or maybe just buy a bunch of dogs and take them to Disney World.

Victoria Drew's kindergartners at Westview Primary have some pretty giving hearts; in addition to some fun stuff, they would like to buy homeless children their own homes, buy toys for their friends or even donate it to doctors to help fight COVID-19. One student even admitted that a kindergartner does not really need that much money for his or herself.

May 20 is National Be a Millionaire Day. Drew issued a writing prompt for her students asking them what they would do with that much money. Check out their wish list items:

Danica Aultman

"If I had a million dollars the first thing is (I would) buy food for people that need it. I would buy a homeless person a home. I would buy 15 baby olives for me. I love toys. I would share them with others."
