On Friday, February 28, Philip Simmons Elementary will host a Black History Month event to which members of the community are invited to attend.
The school will celebrate “Those Who Opened the Gates” with a museum honoring African Americans who have made a difference.
The event will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. and is expected to last about an hour.
Parents are also encouraged to visit their child’s class on February 28th (teachers will notify parents of the appropriate time).
