BCSD schools to host LOVEGAVE YardGive events this weekend

Published Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Several BCSD schools are working with LOVEGAVE for a community YardGive event to be held this weekend on several campuses.

The goal is community engagement, with neighbors working together to meet the critical needs of others for the holiday season.

“Education plays a vital role in our community. But when families are struggling to make ends meet, that stress weighs heavily on students and affects their ability to succeed in school,” LOVEGAVE states on its website.

That’s why the organization says it is partnering with local schools and churches to "bless and encourage families."

School administrators say it’s an event that warms hearts. For some schools, it’s the second year hosting the YardGive with LOVEGAVE on their campus.

“Last year’s event was such a huge success and we are hoping that more folks will come out this year,” said Sangaree Middle Principal Sissy Day. “It will definitely warm your heard and help to reinstill the true meaning of the holidays.”

What is a YardGive?

The event will be like a yard sale, only with one major difference – all items will be GIVEN AWAY. There will also be fun, games, hot cocoa and other treats for those attending the event.
