BCSD Renaissance Teams and Leadership classes came together and helped put on the second annual S.C.O.R.E. Conference at Sangaree Middle School last week. Middle and high schools from all over the Lowcountry brought over 200 staffulty and students together for the event.
Organizers say there were 10 breakout sessions at the conference, several of which were led by Stratford and Goose Creek Leadership students. There were also sessions led by SHS teacher Meg Ward and Sedgefield Middle Principal Dr. Jim Spencer. Special guests for the conference included Founder of Renaissance Dr. Larry Biddle, We TELL Founder Dr. Denise Forrest and Dr. Keith Bell of Ohio State University.
Stratford students decorated the auditorium for the theme that was loosely based on “The Greatest Showman” - World’s Greatest Schools.
Mrs. Ward described the event as “a wonderful day, reminding us all how important each of our roles are in the process of education!”
In addition to students decorating and leading sessions at the event, the Sangaree Middle Choir performed; Cane Bay High students ran games and recognition events and SHS culinary students provided lunch.
