Berkeley County will host a second information meeting on training for welding positions Monday, Monday, April 8 at Cross High School.
Attendees will learn about employment opportunities with W International, a premier metals fabricator opening a new production facility in Goose Creek. There will also be information provided on adult welding programs offered through BCSD's adult education department, and student programs to open at Timberland High and Cross High. Interested graduating seniors are encouraged to attend.
When: Monday, April 8, 2019 at 6 p.m.
Where: Cross High School, 1293 Old Hwy 6, Cross, SC 29436
Non-experienced welders will also be able to sign-up for other training opportunities, including a 14-week Gas Metal Arc Welding Fundamentals Course that will begin in May at Trident Technical College's Thornley Campus in North Charleston.
Experienced welders who attend the meeting will be able to apply for employment and new hire training with W through ReadySC.
The information session will include presentations from Berkeley County School District Adult Education, Trident Technical College, ReadySC, Eckert Connects and others.
