BCSD, Volvo offering students an introduction to lean manufacturing
Published Thursday, November 29, 2018
With the help of Volvo, several schools in Berkeley County School District are offering students an introduction to lean manufacturing and safety training.
Registration is currently open for students interested in taking the 135-hour course.
There's no pre-requisite, and all graduating seniors are eligible.
The class will be offered at Goose Creek High, Stratford High, Timberland High, Cross High, Cane Bay High and Philip Simmons High. Spots in each class are limited, so interested students are urged to immediately reach out to their school counselor with questions and requests for registration information.
The course is funded by Volvo and taught by BCSD Career and Technical Education instructors considered experts in a broad range of manufacturing fields. In addition to job knowledge, experience and certification, each instructor is also a MSSC Certified Production Technician.
Again, interested students are urged to immediately reach out to their school counselor with questions and requests for registration information.
