SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
Dr. Karen Whitley, Chief Human Resource Officer, shared the following information* on behalf of Superintendent Eddie Ingram:

  • Weather Update- As many of you are aware, forecasters are monitoring the potential impact of Hurricane Michael across South Carolina, including Berkeley County. BCSD officials are working closely with Berkeley County Emergency Preparedness and are receiving regular updates about the weather from the National Weather Service.

As safety and security is our number one priority, officials will continue to monitor the storm to determine the potential impact on our schools.
Schools and offices will be open tomorrow and follow their normal schedules.

As always, any decisions concerning our schools will be communicated to you via multiple communications platforms, including email, text alert,
call out, social media and the BCSD website.

*BCSD has since decided to close all schools and offices on Thursday, October 11, in anticipation of the potential impacts caused by Hurricane Michael. More info: https://www.bcsdschools.net/hmc1018
