The South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals (SCAEOP) held their 36th annual conference in Myrtle Beach on March 1-4 and our very own group of BCSD office professionals were in attendance.

During the conference, Berkeley County Association of Educational Office Professionals (BCAEOP) received three awards acknowledging BCAEOP for Members in Attendance at the Conference, the Newest Affiliate Chapter and the Affiliate Chapter with the Highest Increase in Membership.

One member, BCAEOP President, Michelle Scott, was reinstalled as the SCAEOP Area 9 Regional Director. In her second term as president, Scott will preside over Berkeley and Charleston affiliate chapters. Ms. Scott is also the treasurer for the Mid-Atlantic Area.

Christina Baumis, CEOE (HHA) was also recognized at the conference and received her Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE) distinction and served in 2017-2018 on the SCAEOP Long Range Planning Committee.

The BCAEOP, originated in August of 2016. The affiliation was a dream pursued and achieved by Michelle Scott, CEOE and Kimberly Glaze, CEOE. Michelle and Kimberly were both members of SCAEOP and desired to create the opportunity to have a local affiliation in BCSD for administrative assistants, bookkeepers, SRC/attendance clerks, and office clerks to invest in their careers through professional development, continuing education, networking, and community service.

BCSD leadership supported the BCAEOP and with their encouragement the local affiliate began and continues to grow. The BCAEOP is affiliated with the state, SCAEOP, and national organization, National Association of Educational Office Professionals, NAEOP.
