7 reasons all teachers should attend our March 10 Teacher Recruitment Fair

Updated Tuesday March 6, 2018

Whether you’re a current teacher on a Berkeley County School District campus or a teacher looking to make a move and grow with us, there are several reasons to make sure you attend the Teacher Recruitment Fair on March 10.

Here’s our lucky list of seven!

1. Network with school administrators
Every principal, from every school in BCSD, will be in attendance. It’s the one time each year when you have all of the principals in one area that’s easy to access.

2. Early interviews
Some interviews have been known to happen “on the spot.” Also, some administrators have been known to open their offices for interviews and tours after the event.

3. Network with district leaders
In addition to the principals, several leaders from other disciplines within the district will be at the event. It’s a good opportunity to learn more about their departments.

4. Make a memorable impression
It’s a low-stress event, but it’s likely one of the most important events held each year in Berkeley County. The goal — to provide the best teachers possible for BCSD students. Principals are looking to learn as much as they can about potential candidates, and it’s a chance for you to stand out from the crowd.

5. Learn about 2018-2019 teacher vacancies
BCSD will have the most updated information on teacher vacancies for the upcoming school year at the event. If you are thinking about making a move, you want to be there to learn about what’s available.

6. It’s low-stress
Did we mention this event is low-stress? You should dress professional, but you should know it’s a laid back atmosphere. It’s also on a Saturday (March 10), so you don’t have to worry about missing a day of work!

7. Learn about alternative certification
Maybe you are interested in switching your focus or becoming a new teacher… While the event is really tailored for certified educators, it is an opportunity to learn about certification in other areas or alternative certification for those with proper degrees.

BONUS:  Meet culinary teachers and students
Did we mention there will be coffee and other refreshments?

The event on March 10 will be held from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration ended Monday, March 5, but walk-ins are still welcome at the event.
